Beth believes that membership scholarships are the most meaningful because with the significant financial challenges faced by many families today, assistance with membership fees is the best way to positively impact many girls by giving them the opportunity to build confidence and promote stewardship. In Girl Scouting, girls develop curiosity, leadership, community, and creativity, all of which are invaluable skills in the world now and moving forward.
Beth Deason became a Girl Scout as a young girl in the area now served by Girl Scouts of North-Central Alabama, and she continued to serve as a volunteer for GSNCA while her three daughters were Girl Scouts in our council.
She has served on the board for GSNCA and for the Alabama Association of Financial Professionals; she also served as Troop Cookie Manager during her time as a volunteer with GSNCA. She has worked for 19 years as a Manager in the Treasury Department for Southern Company Services.
