Girl Scout summer camp builds confidence to try, curiosity to explore, and independence to lead.
Girl Scout Summer Camp 2026 invites girls in grades K–12 to choose their own adventure through outdoor exploration, creativity, and hands-on experiences you won’t find anywhere else. Camp is open to all girls, with no troop participation required.
Girl Scout Summer Camp serves families across North and Central Alabama, offering a trusted summer camp experience close to home. Sessions are available June–July 2026, with options for every age, interest, and comfort level.
At Girl Scout camp, girls are encouraged to be themselves and follow their own path—to try new things, take healthy risks, and have fun without fear of judgment. Whether it’s her first camp experience or her fifth, each girl is welcomed, supported, and empowered to grow at her own pace.
GSNCA summer camps are led by carefully selected, well-trained counselors who complete comprehensive training, including American Red Cross First Aid & CPR, water safety, supervision, and emergency procedures. All campers stay in air-conditioned lodges with staff supervision, creating a safe, supportive environment where girls can build confidence and independence.

Each camp session is built around a weekly theme, giving girls the chance to dive deeper into experiences like horseback riding, sailing, creative arts, outdoor exploration, or animal-focused adventures—alongside classic summer camp fun. Themes help shape each week while still allowing girls to explore, try new things, and enjoy the full camp experience.
Girl Scout Summer Camp is where girls discover what they’re capable of—on land, on the water, and alongside new friends. Explore available sessions, dates, and themes in UltraCamp to find the camp experience that’s right for your girl.
Girl Scout camp is a transformational experience, and every girl should have the opportunity to attend. Families may request financial assistance to help cover the cost of camp through GSNCA Camperships.
Camperships are made possible through funds secured by Girl Scouts of North-Central Alabama to ensure that cost is not a barrier for any girl who wants to experience summer camp. If you would like to be considered for financial assistance, please complete the Campership scholarship application.
The Campership application period runs December 15 through March 1. Applications are reviewed shortly after submission, and awards are made upon review. Families will be notified of Campership decisions by email.
Make new friends, build your résumé, and make a difference this summer as part of the GSNCA Seasonal Camp Staff. Camp staff gain hands-on experience while developing highly sought-after leadership and life skills in a supportive, fun environment.
Staff members receive valuable training, including American Red Cross First Aid & CPR certification, and build skills such as effective communication, teamwork, conflict resolution, problem-solving, and customer service—skills that translate far beyond camp.
Being a member of the GSNCA summer camp team is more than just a job. It’s a unique opportunity to be a role model, make a lasting impact, and help girls grow in confidence and independence.
According to the American Camp Association, camp jobs offer unmatched opportunities for leadership development and professional growth. Experience as a camp counselor is widely recognized for building strong management, teamwork, and interpersonal skills—benefits that last well beyond a paycheck.
