Have you ever wondered what it's like to stay at the zoo after all the animals are tucked in for the night? Join us for a Zoo Snooze and find out! Our zoo education staff will ensure a fun and educational experience that can only be had at the Birmingham Zoo and will build memories that last a lifetime!
Beginning at 7pm with arrival and campsite set-up, Zoo Snoozes include a tour, education activity, and games before bed. Rise with the call of the wild to enjoy breakfast and a special morning experience before the Zoo opens.
We are excited to have Girl Scouts of North-Central Alabama come to learn and create lasting memories with our educators here at your Birmingham Zoo.
* We ask that you plan to arrive at the Zoo at least 15 minutes before the experience begins at 7:00 p.m. This will allow time to find parking and make your way to the meeting place.
* Your educator host will meet you for your tour just outside the Children's Zoo Gate on the far-right side of the main entrance gate.
* This experience will enter different areas of the Zoo after the Zoo has closed. Participants must follow instructions from Zoo staff, at all times. Participants who are disruptive and/or do not follow staff instructions may be removed from the tour without a refund.
* Each participant must complete a liability waiver prior to the encounter. You must also fill out the GSNCA liability waiver. Parent/guardian signatures will be required for all participants 19 and under. We have attached the waiver here so you may complete it and bring it with you. We will also have waivers available at the zoo. I've attached the link to register and the release forms to this email!
* Girl Scout rules declare that we must have two separate campsites, one for our Girl Scouts/mothers/female guardians. And one for fathers/male guardians/brothers. If a Girl Scout wants to stay in a tent with their male guardian, or if the family would want to stay together then they would sleep in the family campsite area.
* Zoo Snoozes are outside camping events, come prepared. (tents, sleeping bags, air mattress, pillows, blankets, rain gear, etc.)
