Subscriptions that are finalized and paid after 3pm on the last day of the month, will be initialized next month.

Trefoil Trunks are a monthly subscription box that will be delivered to your home or available for pick up every month. Each box will contain supplies and instructions for program level specific badge and journey requirements; a booklet with games and puzzles; supplies and instructions for a craft and/or a swap; the requirements to earn the Trefoil Trunk patch rocker; a suggested monthly service project; the login information for the LIVE event scheduled for the last Tuesday of the month; plus other fun surprises!  Trefoil Trunk subscribers will complete the requirements to earn the monthly badge and rocker for the Trefoil Trunk patch and learn about service project opportunities during live virtual meetings.

General Information and Subscription FAQ

 

Question: Can non-members participate in the Trefoil Trunk program?

 

Answer: Absolutely! Just check the “New Member” box and you will become a Girl Scout for the 2020-2021 membership year. We will include a FREE Girl Scout Membership pin in your first Trefoil Trunk! You will also receive information on joining a local Girl Scout troop OR how to join a virtual Girl Scout troop.

 

Question: Do we have to pay up front? Or can we pay by the month.

 

Answer: You do not need to pay up front. When you sign up for a subscription for either 6 or 12 months you provide us with your credit card information and permission to bill your credit card each month. Your credit card will be billed the first week of each month for one month’s box and shipping.

 

Question: How long will the Trefoil Trunk program be available?

 

Answer: We anticipate a huge response and have developed a plan for the Trefoil Trunk program to continue at least through August 2021.

 

Question: What is the deadline to subscribe?

 

Answer: You can start a subscription at any time, but you must register and complete payment by the last day of the month to receive the following month’s box. For example, if you register and pay on August 31, 2020, you will receive the September 2020 box. If you register and pay on September 1, 2020 your subscription will begin with the October 2020 box. Due to the varied content for each program level, as well as the packing and shipping process, this deadline is firm.

 

Question: What program level is the Trefoil Trunk geared for?

 

Answer: The content of each Trefoil Trunk is curated for a specific program level. Each program level has its own box with contents specific to each program level.

 

Question: We have a multilevel troop and want to order them for all the girls. Which level box should we order?

 

Answer: Order the box for the program level of each individual girl. For the live event each month, girls will have the ability to do activities separately.

 

Question: What if my girl bridges to a new program level during her subscription period?

 

Please notify tsails@girlscoutsnca.org at least one month in advance. For example, if your girl will bridge from Juniors to Cadettes in May and you would like the Cadette box delivered in May, please notify Tonya no later than March 31, so that the box for the new program level can be noted.

 

Question: Is there a discount on the price of the box if we subscribe for multiple girls?

 

Answer: The boxes are priced as low as possible to include the supplies, packaging, the cost of insignia (badges & journeys), as well as the custom Trefoil Trunk patch and the rockers that go with it. Unfortunately, we are unable to discount the boxes any further.

 

Question: Is there a discount on shipping if we subscribe for multiple girls?

 

Answer: If a minimum of five subscriptions are billed to a single payment source and shipped to a single address, we will pack the contents into individual bags; combine them into one large box; and ship them together, to reduce the shipping cost. Please contact gsnca.programs@girlscoutsnca.org for a combined shipping estimate.

 

Question: If we choose the 6-month subscription, can we renew for the following 6 months?

 

Answer: Yes, absolutely. To ensure that every girl receives her box without interruption, renewals must be received and paid no later than the last day of the preceding month.

A full 12 month subscription will allow girls to complete 11 badges, 1 journey, and the Trefoil Trunk patch with 12 individual rockers. All badges, patches, and journey insignia that are earned throughout the year will be sent by mail in May, and girls will be recognized for their achievements at the Virtual Court of Awards on May 25, 2021.

Shipping, Delivery, & Pick-up FAQ

Question: When will my box arrive?

Answer: Boxes will be packed the 1st – 7th of each month. They will be shipped beginning on the 7th of each month (or on the next business day following the 7th.) Depending on where you live, the box could arrive as early as the 15th. If you live in another State, expect arrival to be delayed in proportion to the distance the box must travel.

Question: How much is shipping?

Answer: In-state shipping is $10 and out-of-state shipping is $15.

Question: Can I pick up my box instead?

Answer: Yes. When you subscribe, you can designate monthly pick-up instead of shipping for the duration of your current subscription. Delivery method may not vary from month to month. When you renew your subscription, you can choose another delivery method, if desired.

Question: If I choose pick-up, where will I pick-up my boxes and when?

Answer: When you subscribe, you will be asked to designate a pick-up location. Pick-up location may not vary from month-to-month. Beginning the 10th of each month (or the next business day following the 10th), your monthly box can be picked up at the designated location. The pick-up locations are as follows:

  • Birmingham Office
  • Camp Coleman
  • Huntsville Office
  • Tuscaloosa Office
  • Florence Office
  • Gadsden TBD

Question: Can I pick up all 6 (or 12) boxes at one time or do I have to pick them up every month?

Answer: Boxes destined for pick-up at one of the designated locations will be packed and hand delivered to those locations once a month. Boxes will not be packed in advance. If you choose the pick-up option, you will need to pick up your box each month at the same pick-up location.

Contents of the Box & Program FAQ

 

Question: What will be in the Trefoil Trunk boxes?

Answer: Each box will contain supplies and instructions for program level specific badge and journey requirements; a booklet with games and puzzles; supplies and instructions for a craft and/or a swap; the requirements to earn the Trefoil Trunk patch rocker; a suggested monthly service project; AND the login information for the LIVE event scheduled for fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:30 PM.

Question: What program level is the Trefoil Trunk geared for?

Question: Can I get a list that shows which badges and journey each program level will be doing?

Answer: As with any subscription box services, the contents of each box is a surprise. In addition to badge activities, the box each month will include supplies and instructions for a craft and/or a swap, the requirements to earn the Trefoil Trunk patch rocker, and a suggested monthly service project, as well as the link to the live event.

Question: Can more than one girl access the Live event on a single subscription?

Answer: Each subscription includes 1 link (log-in permission) to the monthly live meeting. Only one device may be logged in from that individual link. If multiple devices attempt to log-in from the same link, only the first device to access the meeting will be admitted from the waiting room.

Question: When are the Live events?

Answer: Monthly live meetings will be held virtually at 6:30 PM Central Time on the fourth Tuesday of the month (Including December 29.)

Question: What awards will Trefoil Trunk participants earn through the subscription?

Answer: If all the activities are completed for a 12-month subscription, participants will earn 11 badges and at least 1 journey. (To complete the journey, girls will need to do a take-action project on their own.) Participants will also earn a custom Trefoil Trunk patch with a series of 12 rockers. Those who subscribe for 6 months will complete ½ of the above.

Question: How do I obtain the badges, journey, patch, and rockers?

Answer: All badges, patches, and journey insignia that are earned throughout the year will be sent by mail in May. Girls will be recognized for their achievements at the Virtual Court of Awards at 6:30 pm on May 25, 2021.

Question: Can we find out what badges girls will earn before we purchase?

Answer: As with all subscription box services, the contents of each box is a surprise. Question: If my girl has already earned a badge that is included in the Trefoil Trunk program, can we return the box that month and obtain substitute activities?

Answer: Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to supply alternative activities - but we hope your girl will enjoy looking at the badge in a new way; completing some new requirements; engaging in some additional activities and service projects; and/or sharing it with a friend.

Question: How long will it take to complete all the activities in a box?

Answer: In addition to the live on the fourth Tuesday of each month, the badge requirements to be done “on your own” the craft and/or the swap, and the suggested service project could easily consume one to three hours per week (or three regular troop meetings.) The intent is for each box to include enough activities so that girls can do them throughout the month and participate in the live event the fourth Tuesday of the month.

Order by the last day of the month for the next month's subscription. Your Trefoil Trunk will be mailed or available for pick up around the middle of each month.
