Timeline
July-September 2009
- Attend Troop Fall Product Manager training
- Read Fall Product Manual completely
- Getting your troop ready
September 2009
- Set training session for girls and parents.
Make sure all participating girls are registered for 2009-2010 program year. - Emphasize Safety-Wise guidelines (see page 131 in book).
- Parent Permission forms must be signed and turned in to Troop Fall Product Manager by September 23, 2009.
- Set personal and troop goals with the girls. Troops that set and work towards goals typically have a much higher success rate with their sale.
- Distribute Girl Order Cards. Distribute only to registered Girl Scouts whose parents have signed a permission form.
September 11
- Troop Fall Product Manager’s Position Description due to Service Unit Fall Product Manager.
September 25
- Girls begin taking orders. Emphasize to girls and parents that they are on their honor not to start before this date.
October 16
- Last day for girls to take orders.
October 17
- Girl orders due to the Troop Fall Product Manager. Girls should hand in their Girl Order Cards, Address Booklets, Pay Later forms, and Detailed Order Report print-outs of online magazine orders to their troop leader on this date.
- Check addition on Girl Order Cards carefully, and use it to prepare your troop order.
October 17-21
- Enter girl orders into the Nut-E system, verify incentive items in Nut-E system. Start early so that you have time to double-check your order. Remember you are ordering items by the piece, not the case.
October 21
- Troop Fall Product Managers will be locked out of Nut-E as of midnight on this date.
- Troop orders must be complete.
October 21-23
- Service Unit Fall Product Managers will verify that all troops have entered their orders. This is the time to make any needed corrections to Nut-E. Please make sure everything is current in the system.
October 22
- Troop Fall Product Managers should submit Address Booklets, Pay Later forms, and Detailed Order Report print-outs of online magazine orders to Service Unit Fall Product Managers.
October 23
- Service Unit Fall Product Managers will be locked out of Nut-E as of midnight on this date.
October 27
- Service Unit Fall Product Managers submit Address Booklets, Pay Later forms, and Detailed Order Report print-outs of online magazine orders to Council Product Sales Managers.
November 11-13
- Nuts and candies will be delivered to Service Units.
Check with Service Unit Fall Product Manager for delivery date, time, and location. - Troops must arrange for transporting orders to a second location for distribution to girls.
- Counting is critical; receipts must be used and signed. Service Unit Fall Product Managers can print the T-2 form from the Nut-E system. This form lists all the items ordered and there is a space on top for the signature of the troop leader receiving the items.
- Troops provide products ordered to girls using the Girl Order Cards.
- Please pick up products quickly and distribute quickly so that girls will have time to deliver the products and bring the money back to you.
- Receipts must be signed by the parent before products are released. Print out a T-2 form from the reports in Nut-E which lists all the products and has a place for a signature to indicate that products have been received. This can be done at the girl level.
- Tell girls and parents that money is due by November 23, 2009.
- Encourage girls to deliver nut and candy orders as quickly as possible. Girls should not leave products without collecting money.
November 23
- Girl money is due to the troop for nuts and candy products sold and parents should receive a receipt for the money turned in. All money collected should be deposited into the troop account.
November 25
- A troop check written for the amount due to the Council for nuts and candy products sold should be deposited into the Council’s Regions Bank account no later than this date before 2:00 p.m.
December 1
- Troops should provide the following to the Service Unit Fall Product Manager: Deposit slips with a copy of your T-2 form and completed Evaluation forms.
December 3
- Service Units should provide the following to the Council:
