The Girl Scout program is delivered and supported by volunteers. Our council has several thousand volunteers. Volunteers choose long or short term projects, and can work with girls or with other Girl Scout adults. Positions can be divided among more than one person. Training is provided for all our volunteers.
Work directly with Girl Scouts:
Troop Leader or Co-Leader: Work with girls ranging from kindergarten to high school. Requires basic leader training and commitment to the troop for one school year. Troops set their own schedules, usually meeting twice a month; some meet after school, others evenings or weekends. No previous Girl Scout experience is needed, as training is provided.

Resource Development
Volunteer needed in the Fund Development department in the Birmingham office. Volunteer will work with the VP for Resource Development, Grant Writer and Special Events Coordinator on various office tasks. Volunteer opportunity can be customized to volunteer's interests. Schedule and length of commitment flexible and to be agreed upon before volunteer begins work. Needs include data entry, filing, mailings, creating and modifying documents in Microsoft Office, general clerical duties, and other opportunities in fundraising and event planning as needed/desired and agreed upon by both volunteer and organization. Special Event Volunteers needed for fundraising events throughout North-Central Alabama. Volunteer responsibilities may include one or more of the following: greeting/checking in event attendees, assisting with décor and staging, assembling event packets, assisting in cleanup activities, and other event planning activities as needed/desired and agreed upon by both volunteer and organization.
