Our mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place, makes it important that you acquire the knowledge and skills needed to fulfill your position successfully. The council makes every effort to provide the resources, learning opportunities and recognition needed to contribute to the personal growth of adults in Girl Scouting. Registration Procedures

All adult learning sessions require pre-registration, preferably two weeks before the course date. Registrations will NOT be accepted by phone. If there is a fee for the course, a check made payable to Girl Scouts of North-Central Alabama or credit card information must accompany the paper form, or you can easily register online​.

Adult Training: Developing a Girl Scout Leader

This free training is for both new and experienced Girl Scout volunteers. Participants will learn how to guide their girls through the Girl Scout Leadership Experience in an exciting, Girl-Led way. Topics covered include Badges, Journeys, the Volunteer Toolkit, calendar planning, and much more!

Bronze & Silver Award Training

This training is for any girl interested in earning the Bronze or Silver Award. Girls will learn how to identify a great Take Action project for their Bronze or Silver Award, and all of the steps they must complete to earn the award. Adults are encouraged to attend.

Cost is $5 per person.

Gold Award Training

This training is required for any girl who wants to earn the Gold Award. Girls will learn how to identify a Gold Award project and all of the steps required to complete the award. Girls must be in High School to attend this training. Adults are strongly encouraged to attend. Cost is $5 per person.

Leadership Skills Workshop - Program Aide and Volunteer-in-Training

Leadership Skills Workshop - Program Aide - PA and Volunteer-in-Training - VIT. This workshop is for Cadettes who wish to earn the Program Aide award and Seniors or Ambassadors who wish to earn the Volunteer in Training Award. Award requirements can be found on page 30 of the Cadette Girls Guide to Girl Scouting and page 32 of the Senior Girls Guide to Girl Scouting. Prior to attending the PA workshop, Cadettes must first earn the LiA Award(Leader in Action Award). Requirements can be found on page 30 of the Cadette Girls Guide to Girl Scouting and in the Brownie Adult Journey Guides.
Cost is $25. Lunch and materials will be provided.
