Girls ride horses at Camp ColemanCamp Gertrude Coleman, founded in 1925, sits right on the Cahaba River with lots of woods, hiking trails, and areas to explore. There's a swimming pool, horse stable, ropes/challenge course, plus traditional camp activities. Located near Trussville, Alabama, the camp is close to Interstates 59 and 459. The campsite itself features a large dining hall with a kitchen, open-air gym for activities and rainy day events, modern healthcare area with isolation capabilities, nature center, and primitive camping areas.

As a camper, you'll stay in cabin units of three to seven small cabins. Three to six campers stay in each cabin, while the unit leader and counselors stay in a nearby cabin. Each cabin unit has a picnic shelter for cookouts and unit activities. Young campers may be housed in bunkhouses with staff. To see a map of Camp Coleman, click here.
