These procedures apply to all legacy Program and Training Council opportunities of Girl Scouts of North-Central Alabama. To register you can e-mail, mail, fax or walk in your registration and payment. Telephone registrations will no longer be accepted. No space will be reserved until payment is received. All registrations must be received in the office by the close of business day of the posted deadline. All program and training events are offered to Troops in the four Service Areas. Northport Medical Center Emergency Department Parking Lot
We can sell cookies and will have a booth to recruit leader and girls. We need volunteers for the booth and for girls to assist with bike safety and face painting. Each volunteer will get a t-shirt and a goodie bag. There will be giveaways, food and a variety of booths for car seat safety, bike safety, internet safety just to name a few! Earn Your Cardiac Care-Heart Healthy Hero Patch
This Cardiac Care - Heart Healthy Hero patch program was designed by Jamie Langley, Miss Alabama 2007, to encourage Girl Scouts to learn about their circulatory system and how to keep a healthy heart. *Win-Win Patch
Negotiation is a great way for people to reach an agreement that makes everyone happy or better off. The Win-Win: How To Get What You Want Patch teaches girls the importance of negotiation through different activities. By changing the mindset of girls at a young age, they will be less likely to shy away from negotiation later in their lives and careers. This is a collection of discoveries, experiences, and existence. Objects that were collected merely for their fragile beauty reveal upon closer inspection their strength as well as a close kinship to humankind. Art and science converge in this unique and beautiful exhibit from artist Allison McElroy. Included in this remarkable exhibit are leaf, mold and root components, pencil drawings of and actual collected spider webs and bug wings, more than 80 four leaf clovers, various hand-made “cocoons,” and video projections. Included in price of admission.

Dig Science! is a hands-on exhibit that allows visitors to explore the world of archaeologists. Practice the skills of archaeology through map reading and development, “excavation,” and artifact analysis. ^Memorial Day Celebration at the Andersonville National Cemetery

The Andersonville National Cemetary will celebrate Memorial Day by placing flags on the graves of our veterans. The National Park Service is offering councils the opportunity to place flags on the 19,000 headstones in the National Cemetary. Calhoun Community is offering the "Manners are Magic" classes for teens and adults as well as "Elbows off the Table". They are also offering a new children's class this fall, entitled, "Smart Kids: Financial Basics for Children" for ages 8 and up. Program Volunteers Needed
We are looking for high energy, high fun people to help implement our exciting Council Program Events. Volunteers are asked to serve for the entire membership year and work at least 2 events during the year. Most events take place on Saturday. Training will be provided! In addition to program events, there will be other exciting opportunities! We would love to speak with you in more detail about joining our team. Senior Girl Scouts are welcomed, and needed! Join Girl Scouts from around the council as you learn how to keep your smile beautiful and bright. The Try-It Workshop will take place at the Offices of Dr. Donald Norby in Anniston. Participants will get an up close look at how a dental office works. It will take the mystery and fear out of going to the dentist. The workshop will be lead by professionals in the dental field. Plants Try-It (Brownie)

Botanical Gardens
Cost: $5*
The BBG welcomes Brownie Girl Scouts to visit The Gardens to earn their Plants Try-It during a two-hour self-guided exploration. Materials will be provided in a special kit for them to complete the requirements they wish. Saturday: 10 AM-Noon or 1-3 PM. Sunday: 2-4 PM. To reserve project materials, call (205) 414-3953 at least two weeks in advance. A confirmation packet will be sent by mail. You may order BBG patches at our cost per patch. Try-Its will need to be purchased at the Council Shop. Check out materials at the BBG Library on scheduled date and time. *A $5 usage fee per troop is due at check-out. Betty Wilson, a certified Terry Madden Watercolor Artist, is offering a badge workshop to help Junior Girl Scouts earn the Drawing and Painting Badge. Troop registration preferred but individual girls may attend. This event is for Junior Girl Scouts only. In these workshops the girls will complete activities 1-7 and 9.
